Music is all you need to tame the beasts in Gitaroo-Man. As U-1, descendant of the legendary Gitaroo-Man, it's up to you to save the planet from the clutches of the evil Gravillian family. To accomplish this heroic feat, you must press buttons that correspond to onscreen commands. If executed successfully, your health meter goes up while the enemies' health meter diminishes. Gitaroo-Man also features both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes in which players perform different parts of the music.

Gitaroo Man is a rhythm video game developed by iNiS and published by Koei for PlayStation 2. It features visual production by Mitsuru Nakamura and an original soundtrack by Japanese band COIL. The game was released in Japan on June 21, 2001, in North America on February 18, 2002 and in Europe on June 21, 2002. A port of the game for PlayStation Portable, titled Gitaroo Man Lives!, was released in 2006.
